Family man and community leader...

Mike Foster is committed to serving our community’s judicial system with his strong belief that the courts should provide fairness and equality for everyone.  Our judges have a responsibility to provide good, sound decisions based on legal knowledge and experience.

 

Mike is a life-long resident of Wichita, having graduated from South High School in 1963.  He received his B.A. from Wichita State University in 1967.

 

After college, Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corp Reserve and, while attending basic training, was awarded the prestigious American Spirit of Honor Medal, an honor awarded to only 1 in 5,000 recruits.  Following his active military service, Mike attended Washburn Law School, completing his Juris Doctorate in 1972.

 

Mike is a member of the Wichita Bar Association, having served on the Board of Governors and several committees, including ethics and fee disputes.  He is also a member of the Kansas and American Bar Associations.

 

Mike has been married to Vicki for 40 years.  Vicki is an art educator in the public schools.  They have one daughter, Betsy.  Betsy and her family reside in Kansas City.

 

Mike and Vicki are active members of the University Congregational Church.
